Things to Do

Nantucket is where we first met and continue to create such special memories. We’re so excited to share our favorite place with each of you!

Activities

Rent a bike from Young’s Bicycle Shop, Cook’s Cycle or Nantucket Bike Shop and take a ride around the island. We love the Polpis Road path from town to Sconset and back for a roughly 20-mile ride!

Visit Cisco Brewery for a taste of Nantucket-made beer, wine and spirits. Cisco has live music and a number of food trucks, and offers a free shuttle that runs continuously from the Visitor’s Center in town (24 Federal St.).

Go for a walk at Sanford Farm, a 780-acre property maintained by the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and known for its peaceful trails and ocean views.

Go to the beach! Our favorites are Ladies and Pocomo, both of which are accessible by car. Jetties is the closest to town, and accessible by both car and the WAVE public shuttle. Nobadeer and Cisco are favorites for surfing, and you can rent boards at Nantucket Surf Club

Visit Sconset, a small village about eight miles from town on the eastern end of Nantucket. We recommend getting a bite to eat at the Summer House Beachside Bistro and checking out the Bluff Walk for incredible views of the ocean and beautiful homes.

Take in the best view of Nantucket from the tower at First Congregational Church (where we will be getting married!), the tallest point on the island. Current times to climb the tower are Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Rent kayaks from Sea Nantucket and paddle around Nantucket Harbor.

Go shopping at one of the many boutiques in town.

Visit the Whaling Museum to learn about Nantucket’s history as the one-time whaling capital of the world.

Food and Drink

Morning

Almost all of our mornings on the island start with an iced latte from Handlebar, our favorite coffee shop. For breakfast, we recommend Born & Bread for breakfast sandwiches, Lemon Press for smoothies and Wicked Island Bakery for morning buns. If you’d prefer to sit down to eat, check out Black Eyed Susan’s, Island Kitchen or Downyflake.

Daytime

Our favorite spot to grab a sandwich is Something Natural, and Fresh has great options too. We recommend Brotherhood of Thieves for a burger, Pizzeria Gemelle for takeout pizza, and Sandbar for a casual lunch on the beach. For a nicer, sit-down dinner, our favorites are Ventuno and Straight Wharf. If you’re venturing away from town, we love the quesadillas and margaritas at Millie’s, the fish tacos at Raw 167, and the many food trucks at Cisco.

Nighttime

We love grabbing a glass of wine at Ethos Wine Bar & Bistro, or going out to Straight Wharf Bar, Club Car or the Chicken Box.
